The Junior Accountant will work under the direct guidance and supervision of the Chief Accountant and the main role is to provide support to Finance Department.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Check correctness of invoices (content, format, rates etc.) and liaise with suppliers or the Contracts & Procurement internal department when necessary
  • Check employees’ expense reports to ensure that all the documents are correct, valid and expenditure is in line with internal policies
  • Asist the Senior Accounts Payable with the payment process: collect payment approvals from relevant budget owners, updated online payments files and take all measures to ensure the correctness of the payments submitted for approval.
  • Update various excel files referring to: payments, invoices, loans
  • Book various transactions into the accounting system: invoices, bank statements, expense reports, petty cash
  • Perform reconciliations to ensure correctness of company’s accounting records
  • Assist the Chief Accountant and in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings, at inventory procedure of company’s assets, at external/internal financial audits
  • Participate to implementing the internal procedures and maintaining the internal controls
  • Supports implementation of new ERP or accounting software
  • Fill, submit, withdraw documents to/from ANAF, INSSE, BNR or other authorities
  • Archive accounting documents
  • Various other duties as required.

Education & Qualifications

Technical knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferably from the Academy of Economic Studies Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems. Graduating from a high school with economic profile is a plus
  • Good understanding of the Romanian GAAP
  • Minimum knowledge of Romanian fiscal legislation
  • Excellent organizing abilities; Great attention to detail
  • Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience with CIEL V7 and MS Dynamics (Navision) is a plus.

  • Proactive, ethical, and enthusiastic individual ready to contribute to a dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Attention to details is a must.
